Welcome to the website for the
Ango-Swedish Society of Karlstad.
Founded in the 1940’s, the Anglo-Swedish Society is a place where English-speaking immigrants and Swedes can meet and socialise. Currently we have members from all corners of the British Isles, the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa - and, of course, Sweden.
Most meetings have a social character and there is often a theme for the evening, such as a short talk on an aspect of English-language culture, travellers’ tales, a quiz or music.
We welcome all english
speaking people who are resident in Sweden or just passing through. You
are also welcome to come to our meetings if you just want to practice
speaking english, in any form, with some native speakers.
